I am home! It is reading week! My brother let me download the Dragon Age 2 demo on his xbox! It's really fun, and I mostly had the same reactions as everyone else (e.g holy cow Isabella's smuggling beach balls in her top, gee whiz this combat is fun, Lady Hawke, why are you so hot) and I loved the rogue combat. Vanishing in a puff of smoke, reappearing and then stabbing dudes in the kidneys fills me with glee. I did find the voice acting kind of flat, though, especially Bethany's. 'British' doesn't mean 'lifeless', people!

Hasn't stopped me from planning out my Hawkes in advance, though! March 11th can't come fast enough.

In other news, KORRA HAS A FACE AND IT IS AWESOME. Totally a descendant of Sokka, y/y?

So! I am back at Cardiff despite the sub-zero temperatures and huge layer of snow that has basically caused the UK to grind to a halt. And guess that was waiting for me? [livejournal.com profile] futuresoon 's Christmas card! I am so pleased that it arrived and I can enjoy the lovely Yuuko/Doctor drabble instead of a befuddled Royal Mail employee. The Doctor is totally the kind to poach assistants.

And so while I was away apparently the internet decided to spit out two very big bits of news: Hetalia is getting licensed by funimation (I'm sorry but I don't know many voice actors so I can't make any jokes ): ) and there's going to be an Avatar artbook! Both items fill me with glee/lulz. This year's shaping up to be a good 'un already.

More snow on the way, though- I think I'm going to need to invest in some huskies.

New Being Human tomorrow!

Four nations, and the war that shaped them )
Written in a big rush at about half eleven last night, before I forgot everything :p. The Fire Nation was a pig to write, I'll tell you that.

Because if this blog isn't for self-entitled ramblings, then I don't know what it's for.

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

I asked [livejournal.com profile] futuresoon , and she gave me:

Comment to this and I'll ask about three of your fandoms.

01. What first got you into this fandom?
02. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
03. Favourite episodes/book/films/etc.
04. Do you participate in this fandom (fiction, graphics, discussion)?

Mine were Hetalia, Heroes, and Avatar )

Okay, here is a list of the writing that I want to get done in the next few weeks (if I don't list it here it won't get done):

1. By Any Other Name: Hetalia. England & America discuss names and naming; America learns why England called him Alfred.
Done! You can find it here.

2. First, Do No Harm: Heroes. Peter find out why Mohinder is everyone's go-to medical guy despite his PHD in genetics, and Mohinder discovers that Peter's obsession with heroics runs deep. Done, see above.

3. (POSSIBLE) Unnamed Sherlock Holmes/Mary Poppins crossover. See previous post.

4. (POSSIBLE, Depends on when my comic arrives) Crossover between Hetalia and Dylan Meconis' Bite Me!- France and Claire would get along too well. Done! Posted here.

5. LAST MINUTE ENTRY: Four Walls Sokka Broke Down. Avatar. Sokka and his ladies. Looooooong overdue fic. Not gonna happen. Sorry!

6. Sequel/Companion to Arthur Kirkland and Mr Norrell. Featuring neither of those characters. (Provisional title: Mad Dogs and Englishmen)

Hello all! Here's some more stuff from the vaults, this time everything still decent that I found on my hard drive. There's quite a bit of it, so buckle in.

I just got new shoes again today, bright pink Crocs that are already being paraded around by my MOTHER of all people. D8 I guess I should blame myself for letting my feet be the same size as hers, however this does mean I can use her shoes as well.

Unfortunately, I broke my toe a couple of weeks back and it is taking FOREVER to heal, plus some borrowed shoes yesterday gave me blisters, so it's extra-large comfy shoes for me at the moment until I an better. WHY I HAVE SO MANY FOOT PROBLEMS I DO NOT KNOW. IT WOULD BE EASIER TO CUT THEM OFF AND START AGAIN.

Meanwhile the Avatar fandom has exploded due to season 3 news (look it up at avatar_fans or something) and I am soooo ready for this new season it's untrue.

Today I got one of those random urges that went along the lines of 'You must bake something Livi. No, not at the weekend. NOW. And you must bake something challenging'. Never one to ignore the voices in my head, I dutifully found a recipie that didn't look like I could screw it up too badly and blithely plunged into the world of gingerbread biscuits.

So, this is my attempt at what long-deceased Fire Lady Ilah (also known as Ozai's mum) might have looked like. The hardest part was BS-ing fire nation women's wear circa fifty years ago:

I kinda like it, even though she looks like a moose in a kimono.

New year, new member of livejournal... and that's me! So, um, five things about me:

1. I love cartoons. Especially Avatar: The Legend of Aang.
2. The BBC owns my life.
3. I've never had a journal or blog before unless you count myspace which I never updated, so this is a new experinec for me.
4. I'm in my last year at college, studying politics, history, and english literature.
5. I love to write and draw so I'll most likely inflict it on you all at some point in the not too distant future!

So, fumbling with the controls, I sign off.
