I totally forgot to post about the Doctor Who finale! Which should probably tell you my thoughts on it, I guess. In other words, I was underwhelmed. The fix was completely cheap, I didn't really understand why the Doctor had to marry River, and everything happened way too fast. At least everybody lived, I guess? Merlin was much more satisfying!

Real world wise, I've been applying to jobs left, right and centre and should hear back from 2 interviews I did tomorrow. One of them is something I really want: a job at a gift shop in an historic house. It's only part time and quite difficult to get to, but the people seem really friendly and it's in exactly the sector I want to work in (heritage). Unfortunately my parents don't seem to be so keen: they're more excited about the fact I got offered a 3 month internship in a digital recruitment company writing copy and doing digital things for them. I don't know. Maybe I'm being unambitious but it doesn't appeal to me that strongly at all. And of course I have the interview for this internship on Monday! It seems like a lot of things are happening really quickly and I'm not sure what to do.

Aaaanyway apart from that I've also been enjoying this Pony game. Warning: super addictive!

So, I don't write much Doctor Who fic, considering, and there's a good reason for it: basically every once in a while episodes come along that satisfy everything I would put into a fanfic. The Girl Who Waited was basically everything I have wanted about Amy and Rory, forever. It did all the showing to Moffat's telling about the Pond marriage. I have so many feelings. SO MANY.

POOOOONDS )

In conclusion: OH AMY. OH RORY. OH POOOOOOONDS.

Title: Buried Deep
Author: [info]thewaterbandit
Spoilers: None
Warnings: I don't know any Italian at all so Ezio's dialogue might sound kind of weird.
Rating: G
Summary: This is for that very small overlap of Assassin's Creed/Doctor Who fans in the big Venn diagram that is fandom. Basically holy crap, Ezio totally met Rory.

"Is this some kind of Templar trick?" Ezio asks, throwing the plumed Centurion's helmet aside. "Or are you a new kind of follower of Romulus, playing at soldiers?" )

So this is turning into my weekly Doctor Who flail post. So, um. Non spoilery thoughts are: Everyone seemed a bit off, especially Rory, which is something that is an unfortunate continuation from last episode. Very heavy handed moral message, and an ending I saw coming a mile off. Now to the far more important (and spoilery) thoughts I had on the ending and the trailer for next week's episode.

Okay, a 100% less capslocky, flaily and hysterical reaction to the latest Doctor Who episode.

Basically this is a Rory Appreciation party, haters to the left )

And one again it's Fanmix Friday! In honour of tomorrow's premiere, today I'm sharing my most recent Doctor Who fanmix centered on Rory and Amy.

giefu: (Oh Eleven)
So all this month one of the forums I frequent was running a daily drabble competition. As it was only 100 words each day I contributed from time to time and now that it's ended I thought I'd share some of the ones I thought my lj buddies would like. I actually ended up winning the thing as well, so I guess that might assure you that these are all readable, at least :p

Anyway, today I'll post the Doctor Who ones and one Avatar one. I also wrote a bunch of Mass Effect drabbles, which I'll put up tomorrow to avoid spamming everyone. (and one Friendship is Magic one, which I might post anyway just for kicks)

Saw this, couldn't help sharing. Fun fact: I used to watch CSI and all of its offshoots religiously. Crime dramas appeal to something very deep within my psyche. I think it's the puzzles!

Christmas was a tricky time in the TARDIS. )

It's been so long since I've blogged properly about anything, so here's a reaction post for parts 1 & 2 of the Sarah Jane Adventures with The Doctor and Jo Grant in!

Non spoilery: Russel T Davies was totally watching The Big Bang when he came up for the finale of this episode.
Spoilery stuff behind here! Also I use caps and italics rather a lot )
